Fotografie Workshops - Wet Plate Collodion en Analoge Foto
Harm van de Poel is a documentary and portrait photographer based in IJmuiden, the Netherlands (1984). He graduated cum laude from the Fotoacademie Amsterdam in 2017.
His work moves between documentary and portraiture, with a strong focus on people and their environment. He works on both long-term projects and commissioned assignments, ranging from editorial stories to portraits and visual series.
He combines large-format analogue photography with a flexible, contemporary approach, depending on the context of the assignment. His work is characterized by a careful and collaborative process, creating space for authentic and attentive representations of his subjects.
Alongside photography, he often works with interviews and research to deepen the narrative, resulting in work that is both visually strong and contextually grounded.
His work has been published and featured in outlets including NOS, de Volkskrant, Het Parool, TANK Magazine, and PF Magazine, amongst others. In 2026, he presents his solo exhibition Black Snow at the Verwey Museum Haarlem, alongside a book publication in collaboration with Mainstudio and Lecturis.
